17/11/2008 - Hit-man Emile happy at Field Mill

Emile Sinclair was thrilled with his match-winning display in Mansfield's victory over Salisbury - though a little disappointed he wasn't celebrating a hat-trick.

He put the Stags in front and won the penalty from which Adnan Ahmed made it 2-0.

But the pacey hitman was denied by Whites keeper James Bittner and also missed a simple header from other good chances.

"I am pretty happy with that," said Sinclair. "It was good for the team to get some goals especially at home and to get a clean sheet was a bonus.

"Salisbury had a couple of chances before my goal but, once I'd scored, we dominated the game.

"It was definitely a penalty but I was just disappointed I didn't score. I wanted to take the penalty but Adnan was having none of it.

"It was good for him to score his first goal for the club.

"From the team, I think that is the best performance since I have been here.

"In other games we have been playing good football but not getting the goals and hopefully now we can start moving up the table."

Sinclair is looking forward to building on the understanding he has begun to struck up with his Stags team-mates with his loan spell due to be extended.

Sinclair said: "The gaffer said to me before the game to just relax and play me own game and I think now I am starting to gel with the players.

"I spoke to the gaffer in training and he asked me how I was feeling and I said I'm enjoying it and that I would be happy to stay. "I was scoring now and again for Forest reserves, but I feel a lot sharper and fitter since I have come here."
